I have spent the greater part of the last few days feeling sorry for myself and so upset that I would get sick now - there goes the gorgeous outfit, heels and sparkly necklace and just all the glamour I was saving for the works Christmas do over the weekend now replaced with wondering how I'm going to get everything done on my 'Christmas prep' to do list with my zero energy and constant nausea?
I took a moment and flicked through my phone to take stock of the beauty I have experienced this week:
-Loaded veggie soup, made by my gorgeous husband. Literally the quickest and healthiest winter warmer. Potatoes, pasta, any veg you like (featured: carrots, celery, onion, and tomato) all cooked in the same water but added at different stages due to varied cooking times. Topped off with a stock cube thrown in to add needed salt and some added flavour. We used a beef cube but chicken or a veg cube will work just as good.
No water is thrown out so you eat all the goodness of the veggies that's cooked and usually discarded. Try adding your veg water to soups, stews, what other creative ideas do you have?
-A mid-week impromptu date night. Dinner cooked by my wonderful husband again (he usually cooks more than me but my excuse this week is I have felt so ill). He made the most amazing Shepards pie, we had a glass of South African red, with candles and flowers that have lasted a few weeks (from our first anniversary a few weeks back).
-Christmas is finally in our home. My husband sets up our purple/blue tree so well with lights and ornaments so wonderfully spaced. I took delight in listening to a classic by Eartha Kitt called Santa Baby and passing him our wonderfully sentimental decorations. Next year we will have to have a real tree can't make him suffer another year with my purple tree!
Oh and P.S. The little ballet shoe is to represent the joy and festivity of ballet and my love for ballet.
-Feeling absolutely rotten this morning but seeing a beautiful pink/purple sky from the window, my husband sends me this sun rise photo on his walk to work. Hating the miserable cold and dark of winter but the cheeky sun does make me fall in love all over again with its splendid beauty.
Share how your week has been; both highs and lows. Share any photos as well, by blog post or by email on: dancegrace2@gmail.com
Love to all xx
