Tutu Sunday
It's been a crazy , busy time as of late. Still no closer to getting my logo but I'm not getting down! I thought as its a lazy Sunday, I have been quiet for too long and I'm relaxing post afternoon run, I feel we could all do with a bit of inspiration.
I don't think it's just me but I could live in a tutu. I seem to loose some of my self esteem issues when I wear a beautiful tutu and the world suddenly just becomes me, the tutu, and the dance I am doing. I have tried on three so far in my ballet/dance life, a beautiful black one as mentioned in an earlier post - Inspiration Tuesday 2, a basic white one I had to jazz up with lace and a sparkly gem for a swan lake number and that exact same one that became the above tutu. Reinforced with more netting, black velvet and Swarovski crystals-it's magnificent!
As ballerina's I don't feel that we should share our tutu's, I feel a tutu becomes as personal to the ballerina as her pointe or ballet shoes do. It knows of your greatest struggle to learn that routine, it knows of the joy or tears of joy at seeing it's beauty the first time, and it knows of the elegance of the performance. I think in this life we all need to find an item of clothing that make us feel like that-liberated,beautiful, and full of our life's passion.
I saw on FaceBook the other day a comment about how the world would be better if we wore more tutu's! Well for one I totally agree but that statement just reinforces my view mentioned, there is just something about the beauty of a ballerina in a tutu. Ballet has become somewhat of a fashion trend, tutu's and ballet inspired fashion have managed to creep into fashion wear, and how many people just jump at the opportunity of going as a ballerina in a tutu of some sorts to fancy dress parties or Halloween? Gwen Stefani took the opportunity to be a white swan for a recent Halloween party.
Basically tutu's make us feel perfect, beautiful, graceful and elegant and they are breathtaking items of clothing that show the world their beauty, sparkle, and delicate-ness.
All woman should wear or at least try on a tutu sometime in their lives and then you will totally understand why some of us make a passion and career out of being a ballerina. Other than the pointe shoes the tutu is why I am in love with ballet.
Share your thoughts on tutu's or better yet share your gorgeous pictures on my blog or by email: dancegrace2@gmail.com
Love to all x
